Science Intent

In Science, our pupils progressively develop knowledge, skills and vocabulary through well-structured and meaningful experiences. We recognise the importance of Science in every aspect of daily life. We thoroughly encourage the children to be inquisitive about their learning throughout their academic years at Rabbsfarm Primary School. Our Science curriculum is differentiated to meet the needs of all learners so it is accessible; furthermore, it supports a range of learning styles.

We aim to develop the ability to think independently and raise questions about working scientifically so the children can confidently apply their knowledge and skills. Our Science curriculum intends to inspire our pupils’ high levels of creativity in the application of skills.

Our pupils’ confidence and competence in the full range of practical skills is encouraged and their curiosity is nurtured in, for example, planning and carrying out scientific investigations of discovery.

Pupils demonstrate their determination by developing scientific knowledge, understanding and vocabulary in various ways such as written and oral explanations, building constructive arguments, explaining concepts, solving challenging problems and reporting scientific findings.

At Rabbsfarm, our objective is to train our pupils to work independently and collaboratively so they can undertake tasks in a variety of contexts, such as observing ‘Our Changing World’.

Our ambition is to inspire boys and girls to develop a lifelong passion for Science and its application in past, present, and future technologies and pursue successful STEM careers.
