Mixed Football

Our mixed football team are currently training every Monday with coaches, Mr Berry and Mr Gibson. They are competing in weekly matches across the borough. So far, we have won two games and lost one. The students are starting to show that they are part of a team and becoming familiar with how each other plays, which has contributed to our recent successes. Each game they seem to get better and better. Not only that, whilst they are out representing the school, they are ensuring they are upholding the Rabbs Values at all times and are an asset to themselves, the school and their families.

Shae Sibley has been named as team captain this year after weeks of displaying remarkable leadership and sportsmanship qualities.

Each week, one player has the opportunity to take home the ‘Player of the Match’ trophy.

The team are playing in the Large Schools League, as well as the Borough Cup (they run alongside each other).

Girls’ Football

We are fortunate to have a girls football squad, who train every Tuesday with Mr Knibbs – a coach that comes in from the Brentford Football Club Community Trust. So far, they have attended a football festival and tournament where they were equally successful. The team is made up of a range of girls from Years 5 and 6 who are at different stages in their football career. We are looking forward to attending many more tournaments throughout the year and watching the children continue to develop a love of football.

Netball

We are extremely fortunate this year to have Lisa working as Head Coach with the netball squad once again. It is currently made up of a mixture of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils. Some are quite new to the sport whilst some have been training for the past couple of years. Each week, a team of 8 pupils are chosen to represent the school at a league match. Over the year, we will play seven league games, a league tournament and aim to have friendly matches against fellow schools.

The team are an asset to the school both at away and home games – always showing true sportsmanship and resilience even when they are challenged.

We were overall league winners last year and hoping to take the title once again this year.
