Latest Ofsted Inspection Information - June 2025

Our final Ofsted report following the inspection in June 2025 can be found below.

While we are naturally disappointed that some areas were judged as Requires Improvement, Ofsted recognised many strengths, including that pupils feel safe, enjoy school, and benefit from a wide range of opportunities.

We are determined to use the findings positively and as a clear driver for further improvement.

Please find the full Ofsted Report below, and also read our FAQ for parents.

  • What did Ofsted say we are doing well?

The inspection confirmed many of the strengths of our school. For example, inspectors noted that:

    • Pupils enjoy coming to school, feel safe, and know who to turn to if they need help
    • Safeguarding arrangements are effective, and staff feel supported in their work.
    • Pupils are well cared for
    • Staff enjoy working at the school and early career teachers feel well supported
    • Reading is a priority, with phonics taught well and pupils developing as confident, fluent readers
    • Personal development was judged to be Good, with pupils thriving through enrichment activities, leadership roles, and a strong understanding of values such as respect and inclusion.
    • Early Years was judged to be Good, with children making a strong start through a clear focus on language, communication, and learning opportunities.
  • Why did Ofsted say the school is ‘Requires Improvement’?

Ofsted highlighted three main areas for improvement:
    1. Curriculum: We have set out the content we want pupils to know, so it builds over time, however it is not broad or ambitious enough in some year groups, with inconsistent teaching.
    2. Behaviour: Systems are in place; however, we need to consistently apply our policies for managing behaviour.
    3. Attendance: Attendance, including for those who are persistently missing school, is not improving as swiftly as it needs to.

  • Is the school taking action?

Yes. Some of this work had already started as part of our School Development Plan and has now been accelerated. Since the inspection, we have:

    • A review of all curriculum documentation has taken place and further refinements to ensure every subject is taught with consistency and ambition.
    • A relaunch of our Culture Curriculum (information about this will be shared) and shared expectations, we have revisited our Behaviour Policy and introduced a new recording and monitoring system.
    • We are strengthening the way we monitor attendance and persistent absence.

  • Should I be worried about my child’s education?

No. Ofsted recognised many strengths, especially in safeguarding, Early Years, and Personal Development. The issues identified are about consistency across the school rather than weaknesses in every area.

Inspectors were clear that they saw kindness, connection, and care, your child will continue to be supported and cared for while improvements are made.

  • How will parents be kept informed?
    • Regular updates will be shared through newsletters and the school website.
    • Governors will monitor progress closely with school leaders, updates will be shared in the Headteacher Newsletter.
    • Parents will be invited to forum and feedback opportunities.
  • Can I give my views?

    Yes. You can:

    • Attend our Ofsted Feedback Forum on Tuesday 9th September 2025 at 9am, with a repeat session in the evening at 6pm at school and also online (a Zoom link will be sent out on Monday for this meeting); this will make it accessible for as many families as possible.
    • Share your views via Ofsted Parent View: Click here to be taken to the Ofsted Parent View
    • Speak directly with staff if you have questions; we always welcome feedback and discussion about what is going well and suggestions and ways that we can make improvements.

Alternatively, all of our contact details can be found on the school website: Click here for the website link.

  • What happens next?

The school has a clear improvement plan in place.

Ofsted will return to check on progress, and we are determined that this visit will show the improvements we are making. We will share the outcomes from our monitoring visits with you so that you can see the progress we are making.

We remain committed to providing the very best for all children at Rabbsfarm and thank you for your continued support.
